Chef in the Clouds Part II: IBM SmartCloud @ #ChefConf

We’ve talked previously about our ongoing collaboration with IBM and we continue to make some real goodness happen.

Today, Chef integrates with IBM SmartCloud to automate configuration management and application delivery in IBM’s OpenStack-powered cloud. IBM has released Cookbooks for both SmartCloud and its WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile, providing reusable code for rapid resource provisioning and full application lifecycle management.

Just a few weeks ago, we released test code for supporting the IBM AIX operating system. We’d encourage all you AIX users out there to test this code out and send us feedback, so we can make it rock-solid and ready for production.

If you’re looking for more info on our ongoing work with IBM and how to make the most of Chef in SmartCloud and/or AIX environments, then we highly recommend registering for #ChefConf then checking out Tim Pouyer from IBM presenting, “IBM DevOps for Cloud Delivers Smarter Apps at Market Speed,” at 2:20 pm, on Thursday, April 17.
