Our friends at Citrix & the CloudStack.org open source community have just released CloudStack 3.  This a significant update to the CloudStack platform, which adds support for NetScaler loadbalancers & integration with the OpenStack Swift storage system.

I’m excited every time I see a a network devices get better APIs, so I think the NetScaler support is a particularly big deal.

Official Chef support for CloudStack was contributed by Ryan Holmes & KC Braunschweig of Edmunds.com via the knife-cloudstack community plugin (source).  Chirag Jog also contributed a plugin extending support.    You can read more about Chef Plugins on the Opscode Wiki.
