ChefConf 2020 Moving to a Digital Experience

Update May 1st, 2020: Registration is now open for ChefConf Online! Join us June 2nd for an all-new digital event experience!

The COVID-19 pandemic is having a tragic and widespread impact around the globe, and creating unprecedented disruption in all areas of our lives.

For the safety of our community, speakers, staff, and sponsors, and in alignment with local, regional and federal guidance and mandates, we have decided to combine both ChefConf 2020 Seattle and ChefConf 2020 London into a single online experience to be held on June 2, 2020.

While this is not the Chef Conf we had originally planned for, we are excited to work together to create an experience we will all love. Our vision for a digital ChefConf experience is to create  a special gathering of our unique community to create connectedness and learn in a safe, accessible way.

The new ChefConf will be a free digital event featuring a wide range of training, exploration of best practices in DevOps, security and automation from Chef users and insider knowledge from Chef’s developers, architects and leaders.

As you might imagine, we are still ironing out the details and will let you all know more as the plan comes together. In the meantime, save the date (June 2nd, 2020) to join us.

We know there are a lot of questions, and we have created an FAQ to answer as many as we can. We will continue to update it with the latest details about the event.

Here are some answers to the most important questions faced by ChefConf registrants and sponsors:

Current registrants

If you have already registered for ChefConf 2020 Seattle or London with a credit card, you will hear from the registration team shortly to discuss refunds. If you have obtained your registration as part of your Chef contract, your pass will be applied to ChefConf 2021.

Speakers

Accepted speakers for ChefConf Seattle and London are being contacted today by our speaker managers with details about the digital event, and opportunities for you to participate in  ChefConf and further engage the Chef Community. We are excited to discuss how we can maximize your impact in this new context.

Sponsors

We will contact all ChefConf sponsors in the next few days about next steps.

COVID-19 has imposed a new state of being on all of us for the foreseeable future, and has certainly changed the event landscape well into the summer, at the very least. We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters, and look forward to working closely with all of you as we work to not only retain, but genuinely elevate, our sense of community, belonging and shared knowledge and experience in these unusually trying times.
