Leading up to the June launch of Google Compute Engine, the Opscode team spent several months working with Google to build out a knife plugin for the new IaaS offering. The prospect of combining the consistency and automation of a toolset like Chef with the scale and performance of Google was clearly too good to pass up.
While Compute Engine is still in a private beta release, you can sign up with Opscode to be kept up to date on Compute Engine’s availability, and maybe even get early access to a hands-on trial of the new Chef integration.
