Learn Chef Rally: Year in Review

It has been almost two years since I became involved with Learn Chef Rally and it has been a blast!

When the new learning platform launched at ChefConf 2017 it was limited in scope, only providing Chef learning tutorials. Over the last year and a half, it has grown to offer tracks and modules for Habitat, InSpec, and Chef Automate as well as tracks designed for those using Chef on Azure or AWS.

The hands on lab experiences provided by Learn Chef Rally are an excellent way to learn all things related to Chef Software, and I routinely receive glowing feedback about the learning experience.

Big Thanks

The holiday season is a time to be thankful, and there is much for me to be thankful for in regards to Learn Chef Rally.

First and foremost, thank you to all who use it – with an extra big thanks to those who provide my team feedback and suggestions. It is only through your use and response that we are able to continue to provide the content you need the most.

Next, I want to thank the current and former Chef employees who have developed and delivered the content. The overall experience with the platform is quite good, but as we all know, ultimately it is all about the content. The work you have done to provide that content is second to none.

Finally, I’d like to thank those within the Chef community who have made it possible for me to be part of the Learn Chef Rally success. You are the lifeblood of the tool, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to help teach you all.

2019 and Beyond

I’m very excited about 2019 as we put additional focus on new learning content. As you may already know we have recently introduced video playlists to Learn Chef Rally, which we call Learn Chef Rally Demos (catchy, huh?). This brings us one step closer to providing an enhanced learning path experience that starts with an overview of concepts and practices, provides a beginner level hands on experience with Chef solutions, and then advances to more complex and powerful features.

If you haven’t already used Learn Chef Rally, I encourage you to check it out. If it has been awhile since you were last there, go check out all the new content. You will not be disappointed!

Please send any feedback or suggestions to [email protected].

Thanks and happy learning!
