Now accepting applications for the ChefConf 2019 Diversity Scholarship!

ChefConf 2019 is getting closer! Come hang with us in our hometown! ChefConf 2019 will be our 8th annual event, and we’ll be at Chef’s home in Seattle, WA. Join us this May for talks, workshops, and community!

The Chef community hails from all over the world and includes dozens of industries – from healthcare, to transportation, to government, to plucky startups. It reflects the overall technical industry it draws from, though, and is not as diverse as we want it to be.

We know there are a few reasons why technology fails to attract and retain diverse talent. We want to help with one of those, getting individuals from diverse backgrounds connected to community, learning, and networking opportunities via tickets to attend our conference. You’ll have access to dozens of employers, hundreds of potential colleagues, and a wealth of new ideas.

We’ve updated our Diversity Scholarship program from the past couple of years based on the feedback we’ve received from participants, so it’s a little different from last year.

Chef will be awarding 20 full conference passes to individuals who apply through diversitytickets.org. Diversity Tickets is a project sponsored by #ChefFriends at Travis via the Travis Foundation. We’re excited to leverage their knowledge and network for our scholarships this year. If ChefConf doesn’t fit your schedule, other events on Diversity Tickets might, so check it out.

These tickets are for the full conference from Monday evening’s opening happy hour through Wednesday evening’s community party. All mainstage and breakout sessions are included, plus onsite breakfast, lunch, snacks, and evening activities associated with the conference. Everything but travel and hotel.

Network with community members from hundreds of companies, mix and mingle with Chef employees and #cheffriends from all over the world, and learn about some of the innovative projects and solutions being created with Chef, InSpec, and Habitat.

The deadline is March 12, so don’t wait to apply!
