Q3 Incremental Recurring Revenue Grows 142 Percent Year-Over-Year; Downloads of Chef More Than Double to 12 Million

SEATTLE – December 11, 2014 – Chef, the leader in web-scale IT automation, today announced new Seattle headquarters amidst rapid growth. Chef’s new office is located in Seattle’s most historic Pioneer Square neighborhood at 619 Western Avenue. Doubling its current headcount, Chef plans to add 200 employees in 2015.

With unprecedented adoption of Chef’s IT automation platform, the new office gives the company the space needed to broaden its technology portfolio and support its customers during a period of rapid business and community growth. Akin to the open, inclusive nature of Chef’s business, the office has a large community space for employee and community events, and boasts the latest collaboration technologies and convertible workspaces.

The new space has rustic aesthetics, reflecting Seattle’s industrious past, the artistic history of the building, and features inspired by local influences, including conference rooms named after Seattle’s greatest chefs and artwork sourced from the Seattle Foundation’s Sanctuary Art Center for homeless youth.

Chef’s growth comes as the company helps an entire generation of Global 2000 companies re-architect their businesses to meet consumer demands in the digital economy. –        New Headquarters: Chef is leasing three floors of the 619 Western building in Seattle’s iconic Pioneer Square neighborhood. The space features a rustic, open design with 36,000 square feet of dynamic workspace. Turner Construction was the general contractor of the space, which was designed by Weaver Architects and furnished by obJECKTS. More than 60 percent of Chef employees work from the Seattle headquarters, with others residing in the company’s fast-growing San Francisco and London offices.

–        Surging Business Growth: Chef’s sales continue to accelerate, with the company’s incremental recurring revenue growing 142 percent year-over-year (YoY) in Q3 2014. Chef itself will double in size in 2015, growing from 200 employees today to 400 by the end of 2015.

–        Rapid Community Expansion: Downloads of the Chef automation platform recently reached 12 million downloads, more than doubling the number of total downloads in one year. The Chef community has grown to more than 60,000 registered members, also more than doubling in the past year. This burgeoning movement will convene at ChefConf 2015 on March 31 – April 2, 2015, in Santa Clara, CA.
