Ohai chefs,
As you know the next major version of Ohai (7.0.0) has been in the release candidate phase for a while now. You can learn about it more in our previous blog post or in Ohai 7 Release Notes.
No significant issues are reported for it so we’ve decided to include it in the next Chef Client release (11.12.0) which will be available around ChefConf.
Today we have released an alpha version of Chef Client that includes Ohai 7.0.0 Release Candidate to make it easier for you to test and see if it impacts your environment.
As usual you can get this version for Non-Windows platforms with:
curl -L https://www.opscode.com/chef/install.sh | sudo bash -s -- -p
and for Windows you can download it from here.
